ClinIQ Review ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. By using the Service you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you register, we collect your email address, an optional display name, and a securely hashed password. We do not store plaintext passwords. We also store account preferences you set within the app, including your display theme (light or dark) and email notification preferences.

Usage and Performance Data

We collect data about how you interact with the Service in order to power your personal dashboard and improve the product. This includes:

  • Questions answered, answer choices selected, and whether each answer was correct
  • Exam sessions started, completed, time spent, and final scores
  • Daily study streaks and consecutive-correct streaks
  • Personal best records (best streak, best consecutive correct)
  • Study guides opened and pages viewed within the app
  • Specialty and topic performance breakdowns
  • Questions added to or removed from your Review Bank

This data is tied to your account and used solely to provide and improve your experience. It is not shared with or sold to third parties for advertising or any other purpose.

Device and Technical Data

Standard technical information is automatically collected by our infrastructure providers (Supabase, Vercel) when you access the Service. This may include your IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URL, and pages requested. This data is used for security monitoring, debugging, and aggregate (non-identifiable) analytics.

Cookies and Local Storage

We use browser cookies to maintain your authenticated session and browser local storage to remember your theme preference (light or dark mode). We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking cookies, or any cross-site tracking technologies.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • Provide the Service — authenticate your account, deliver questions and study guides, track your progress and performance
  • Personalization — display your streak, performance history, review bank, and personalized recommendations based on your study activity
  • Transactional communications — send account-related emails such as email address confirmation and password reset. We do not send marketing emails without your explicit opt-in
  • Security and fraud prevention — detect, investigate, and prevent unauthorized access or misuse of the Service
  • Product improvement — analyze aggregated, anonymized usage patterns to improve question quality, identify errors, and develop new features

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data to train AI or machine-learning models.

3. AI-Assisted Content

Questions, explanations, and study materials on this Service have been developed with the assistance of AI tools. When AI tools are used during content creation, no identifiable user data is provided to those tools. Your personal information, study history, and performance data remain solely on our systems.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We may share data only in the following limited circumstances:

  • Infrastructure providers — Supabase (database and authentication) and Vercel (hosting and edge delivery) process data on our behalf. Both operate under data processing agreements with appropriate security standards
  • Transactional email — a third-party email delivery provider is used solely to send account confirmation and password reset emails. This provider receives only the recipient email address and message content necessary to deliver the email
  • Legal obligations — we may disclose information if required to do so by law, regulation, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of ClinIQ Review, its users, or the public

5. Data Retention

We retain your account and performance data for as long as your account remains active. If you request deletion of your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by applicable law or for legitimate purposes such as fraud prevention or dispute resolution.

6. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS), hashed password storage, row-level security policies on our database, and strict access controls limiting who can view user data. While we take these measures seriously, no system is completely immune to security risks. We cannot guarantee absolute security but are committed to responding promptly to any identified vulnerabilities.

7. Your Rights and Choices

  • Access and correction — you can view and update your display name and email address from the Settings page at any time
  • Email preferences — you can manage your notification preferences from the Settings page
  • Account deletion — you can request deletion of your account and all associated personal data by emailing cliniqreview.app@gmail.com
  • Data export — you can request a copy of your personal data and performance history by contacting us at the email above

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you may have additional rights under GDPR / UK GDPR, including the right to restrict or object to processing and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is intended for adults aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe someone under 18 has created an account or provided us with personal information, please contact us at cliniqreview.app@gmail.com and we will delete that information promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you by email or by a prominent notice within the Service prior to the change taking effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
